The project 6 and 3 something I want to talk more

I use the item " eye" to do for this project. I think we need to open our eyes everyday and to explore this wonderful world. I put the eye in the middle and some pictures around it. I choose the picture like the sea and the building because we need to use our eyes to see this world to find the beauty. The pictures like the ipod , the eleplant , the bike and the tatoo  are  about we use our eyes to explore the world to find what we like and what we need to vaule. And about the people, We opne our eyes to see different people and make friends with them. So I think the eyes are the window of our heart. If we open them, that means we opne our heart to this whold world

The background is about two people pulling their luagges. I choose this becuase I am international students. I live without my family. I am like a travler and always change the place to live.
The items I choose are the hot pot sauce which my favorite food in this world . I need the phone when I travle And the passport to give the identity. I collect bunny stuffy. I usually bring some of them when I travle. The poster is about the actress. I put them together to make a feeling like I am always out. I miss the thing in my home country and wanna back. I vaule what I have and usually put the memory and my feeling to a stuffy.

Hornby Nipple Jesus

I dont really understand what is this reading about. Its kind of hard to find the main idea in this 15 pages story.

I think the writer first talk about think about his life and his job. Then he talk about a experience in a gallery. People's reaction about a picture.

I try to figure out what this reading about. The different people can have different responding to the same stuffy. And for a perosn, he even can have different thinking about the same thing because of his changment.

My qeustion is about How and  what relation the writer made himself and the painting. And what he really wanna to say in this story. I felt the story is kind of sepreated and doesnt have a mian idea.

Wexner Center show

There are fours shows in Wexner right now. I feel like the main ideas of them are all kind of down and all of them let people think over. I want to mianly talk about two shows i like in this blog.

One show is  a video named " Questions for my dad" . There is a big screen in a very small room. The video is about some guys ask lots of different question to their dads. First, I am kind of shocked by the topic they are metioned like about the sex. All of the questions are very directly. In the video, the maker sometimes focus their face, sometime focus their mouth. There is just the guys' vieo except other music. These let me pay attention on the questions. And the dark room also make me be quiet to think about their questions. I sat and got a feeling to ask myself some questions that I heard about. For examples, what do you do everday? Are you interested what you do right now? I really like this video, because I think it can let people think deep about themselves.

Another show is made by the artist who suffered from the second world war and lived in porland. The naked organs, people's breaken bodies and the simple color she used. All of them give me a feeling the artist was really sad about that histroy and want to show the people and seoul were breaken and almost dying. That make me a big suprised and I really love that.

From this show, I think the art comes from people's life and thinking. The more thinking we have, the more art we have.

final project

I personally really like to put two different things together to make a interesting picture. For the final project , each picture is the combination of two different pictures like real with unreal, comic and photo. I wanna to make a feeling of imagination and the difference to make people think differently. When i doing this project, I  randomly looked the picture on the internet and if I got an idea and thought ant two were really match each other. I just saved it and started to combination.

I use two pictures. one is about two children run  on the road and the another one is a mysterious background. I wanna show these two children can run wherever they want. The back ground is not real. This also indicates the children have their own imagination. This picture is kind of like the scene in  the movie E.T. That little child is flying with the E.T. : )

One picture is about an open area. Another one is a drawing about a model. I choose them because they have the same color style. That can make the whole picture have a feeling of desolation. And the real background and the not real people is a interesting combination. I also make the girl bigger to show her loneliness. The chairs are smaller than her body. : )

This picture is about a man is playing piano. The paper are under him. I wanna show a difference. I dont know how to describe it. But like a person who really likes play piano and his whole world is music. :'0

The background is a beautiful and open road. And a cat is dancing on the road. No human are on that road. That cat just enjoys herself and just decides to dance. At this moment, She is not a cat :)))))haha. She is a perfect dancer. And i really like the background. I think its very romantic. 

The background is I guess New York city ><...And I put  a person who is flying with the ballon. The person is very small and The world is so big. We are just so little in this big and wonderful world. We wanna fly to explore more and also we are so easy to miss in this world. We need to find what we really like and fellow them to make our own world.

I really like to collect stuff. One of my hobbies is collecting bunny stuff. haha. I collect the the air plane tickets during these two year I took in US. And the movie tickets I watched or just a picture i like in the vogue. I use different color pin to put them on the board in my room. So, for this picture. The background is about a city in Europe. And I put a pin to let eiffel tower  in this picture. It looks like a board. 

Feet in the smoke

Honestly, I have more questions more than my understanding.
I think this reading is about the writer talks about his elder brother was almost dying and in the coma. In the end , his borther woke up . The writer spent a lot of time decribing the story before his brother met the accident about he and his brother and his think when he brothers was in coma. Inaddtion , he used a lot paper to talk about the condition like his apperance and his feeling. No one wanna to talk about that accidents after his brother was coverd. And the writer

The questions are a lot.  I dont know why the title is " Feet in the smoke"?  I found there are nothing about feet and smoke in this artical. And I am not sure is this artical related about the art? The whole story talks about his borther's accident. Why it is in the reading list? Maybe I didnt understand this story.

This is water

In this reading, I think the writer wanna to talk about how to be yourself when you do art. The reading is very interesting. The writer uses some stories to show what he wants to talk. For eample, two younf fishes and one old fish to show he has no meaning the want to educate the studens and two guys talk about the god to indicate people can have different thinking with different respects.

I get some points about the writer talks about in this reading. When different people see the same thing, they will have different thinking about that, because people with different background have different points of views. Secondly, people are easy to be arrogant and critical with their own thinking about a stuff. So, we are easy lost when we need to be objective.It is good to find what you want to do and think, but just be careful to be little arrongant. And we also need to worship about ourself.

The question about this reading is the title about this reading is this is the water. Why the title is “ This is the water ”.

Carver Cathedral

Until i read to the ninth, I felt this reading is just a story about a man and a blind guy. The blind guy is the friend of that guy's wife. The blind guy's wife was die, so he came to that guy's home to take a visit. After a long tarin trip, he finnaly was at their home. That guy didnt communicate with the blind people before. He just know them baced on the movie. He knows a little about that blind man's wife before. His wife liked to write the poem about his husband used his finger to touch his face.
He was kind of rude to that blind man in the beginning when they first met. His wife was kind of annoying about that. He even tried to obeserved his face and his behaviors. They had dinner together. When they talked each other, he found that blind man's life is not bad as he thought.
At night, They watchede TV together. The TV show is about Cathedral. That blind man asked that guy to decribe what the Cathedral about to him. An they decided to draw a Cathedral together. And the bind guys also aksed him to close his eyes when he draw. Surprisedly, the guy was kind of enjoying the blindness.

I think this story may be is about art needs yourself to feel and think. You can not get anything if someone tell you about what that is. You need to use and fellow your heart to feel everything. And When you are closed to your heart, you will enjoy this process and learn more about yourself.

The question i have about this reading is, What the auther wanna to talk about. He used over half of the story to talk about that bind man. Until the ninth, he finnally to mention about Cathedral.

Kaprow Art Which Can't Be Art

In this reading, the writer talks about a question what is art?  When we talk about the art, most of the popele will think the art is which has lots of intension, design and culture background. For examples, some oil painting in the gallery , and the artustic carve in the public area. Those above are art. However, the more and more the work of arts are " wearing" and "decorating" the tile of art right now. We  put  a lot definition to the art, so that we also judge what is the art by our own or common standards. This current trend is making people try to put "art" that others' thinking to their own art to let people think it is art to get an identity. The auther, think art can be everything even if it is very simple. But it is something come from something about that person's own pure thinking  without the thiking which wanna to make it look like art. Like auther, he thinks the art is when he is brushing his teeth, because it comes from his real life, it reflection and recording of the life and his thinking about life. That is life. This is art.

I think everything contains your own thinking anf feeling can be the art. No matter is it artustic. My  question is about what is Hellenisitic period? I googled it is about greek culture though.

My words are open and gravity

I choose the eyes. I think we use them every day. We open our eyes to see and explore the world. The eyes like the window of our heart . We see what we like to see and what we want to see. The place we wanna to go , the people we would like to know. We wanna a life style we want to breath the fresh air and enjoy the sunshine.
However, the world is not what we think about. It is also has what we dont like. What should we do , if we meet them ? Close our eyes to avoid them? We can do that. But if we still open our eyes to see what we dont want to know which is what we sacre and what we hate. We will think over our life.  Life is always beautiful is you always open your eyes to find the beauty.
For the gravity, I use it to describe the gravity in our heart. When we close our eyes , we will have more gravity like the presure in our life. However, If we always open our eyes, the less gravity we have in our life, so we can go wherever we want and whatever we want to do.
The picture is about the sea, land , skyline, people , music, etc. All of then are disorder also can show the gravity. In the middle , there is a eye, means what we can find in our life. Make your life easy and wonderful, open your eyes.

M5

I want to be a person can transform form the real life and unreal world. In the unreal life , i am a normal girl who go to the class etc. But , actually, I am also lives in another world. I also have my friends, we life and work together. I transform to another me when someone needs help or my real world need me to fight. I got this idea, because I am a person wanna try different stuffy, and sometimes think about something unreal happen, may be like dreamer. And I also think sometimes in this world, We are not like what we are, we hide real ourselves in this complicated world. We have something we want to say, but we can not say. We maybe sometimes act. Or there are people in this world , they have two different types of character. They dont even know who they are. Or we can have different character and feeling in different situation. So sometimes , we look like we are a totally different people .
I just wonder who I am .....

But I feel like i am not good at structure. There are too much people in the final pictures .Looks too messy.,

All of the three images I took in the library. You can find most of the international students In SEL. Are they really wanna stay there? Or why they stay there. I wanna use the funny picture that the person is very smaller than the objects to show sometimes we can not handle everything in this country or in this world. We think we are strong but are we?

The first one I am in the coffee. Personally, i thInk coffee is good but I dont really drink  a lot.  This picture I wanna show I feel bored with the  food on campus and also wanna say even if you have a lot coffee during the final, you still can not fcous on studying.

The second one is I am dancing on the keyboard. We use computer every day. It is becoming part of our life. It is the connection between us and our family, friends, others, and the world. 

The last one is I am walking on a pen. The pen is upward. Life is like this pen. Its has the valley and peak. Even if , where we are, we need to be positive .hehe. And I also wanna say  the studying and exploring , experiencing what you dont know are the things you wont regret in our life. Being honest t yourself and enjoy the life ...ohahahahahahahahhah

My favorite Chinese food is hot pot. I usually bring a lot sauceAmerica to  when I back China .Oh, i love the spicy food. I want to eat them every secons. For the phone, I can all people , play the games, listen to the music and shoot the pictures. I bring it so that i will not be bored and always have something to do. After I watched the movie" The Girl Withh Dragon Tattoo", I am becoming the fans of that girl and Rooney Mara. I like she is cool and indepent. I dont know, I just feel like when I see her, I can get a feeling of getting the strength. The passport is the identity for me. I need to being it whereever I go. The last one is bunny. I like bunny and collect bunny stuff. I bronght something when I came to here. And I also bought some in American. I feel like I am happy when I sleep with them. hahaha =）

WALKER BIG IDEA

Big idea in art is the deeper concerning and understanding in life showed by the art. The writer talks about the relationship between theme, subject matter and big idea. Sometimes, the big idea is the same as theme. Big idea always is expressed by the subject matter. Then he also use Jennifer’s art work to talk about how big idea is expressed in the art. I like the teaching tips like the questions asked to students. These let me think how to think through what do I want to show people in my project and how to use the comparison of color, line and other elements in drawing to show my big idea. I think if an art work has an big idea in it, it will be meaningful and educational. And before you come up with a big idea with one subject, we need to know very well about that part. So you can have a good understanding, rather than making others confused you.

My confusion about this reading is the explanation about her work. I feel kind of hard to understand it. For example, the painting “ the garden”, how it can make sense with she wants to break the rule?

Barrett Connote/Denote

This reading is about the connotation and denotation in the art. I feel like this reading is kind of same like “Walker Big Idea”. The connotation is like the subject matter which give people the directly visual feeling. Denotation is like the big idea which is hiding behind the connotation. However, for denotation and big idea these two concepts are different. My thinking is big idea is what the creators want the people know. The main idea is confirmed. For, denotation, the same as the big idea is it has what creator want people have a type of feeling when they see the work. Different people can have different feelings. For example, different ages kids have little different reaction with the Teddy bear. I feel like the denotation is kind of like the people’s identity. We can have other own identity, but people can still put different dentity to us, even if they don’t know us. For example, I am Chinese. But if I usually stay and live with Americans, some people will think maybe I am Asian American. So , actually I just have the identity of Chinese. But people give me an identity of Asian American.

I think I understand this reading. My little confusion is what is the first picture in the first page “ cut and paste” mean?

This map is about our thinking on our way to the classroom. I use the pictures i took when i walk to classroom in the morning. And add the some funny pictures to express my feeling and thinking.

My apartment is in the west lane. The first picture is about my apartment. Our class is at 9:30. But i usualy get up at 9:10.haha .So the next pictures are about I was very sleepy. Then  walk, walk , i was still sleepy but better than when i just woke up. And i ramdonly cheack the time on my phone, I just realized i will be late for class. But i just felt ok with that -.-..Maybe the teacher looks like very nice ..Then i saw a statue. I felt pretty funny and made me feel fresher. I copied the style in my heart.. That traffic light is speacial. Every wednesday at around 9:30, i usually meet a guy i dont know who he is , but i think he is kind of  handsome?! So, just image in my mind, may be next time can say hi- -and hang out in the end...OMG..btw i think i wont do that...Then i saw Klnowton hall, I found some Roman style pillars was standing there. When i wanted to think about what that is , i know it was 9:32. I ran for the class in the end.

KIDD THE CHEESE MONKEYS

One of the reasons I like this reading is the language and structure. For example, “ Ladies and Gentlemen ”, “ you are going to war” and “ Now that’s where the real fun begins”. The writer use lots formal words that make this book not like a book, like a conversation between readers and writers. This style actually as the same as what the author talks about in the book, the new thinking about the drawing. He analogies our normal thinking about drawing is like our enemy. We need to think about us and break the rules about the drawing. After that, we are going to a new world.  He talks about big and small, left to right, front and back, top and bottom and from and content these stuffy to describe his think about drawing. I think the writer want use to know we need to be a conceptive, and detail-oriented before we drawing.

The problem for me about this reading is it looks like preface or introduction about this book and his main idea. I kind of hard to exactly know what does he want to talk about the war and who is your enemy. How we can beat them and so on. But in a word, I think this book must be very cool which is written by a cool person. And I also very interested about the book name “ cheese monkeys’

WESCHLER UNCANNY VALLEY

I like the movie “The Lord of the Rings” which also uses the digital animators which is the main idea in this reading. I was surprised and shocked by the characters that are created by human when I watch the “The Lord of the Rings”. That’s an amazing.  From this reading, I know that its very difficult to make a digital animators. For examples, how to make the skin looks soft like the real man? There are 44 muscles in a human face and a person can have 5000 facial expressions. How to put the soul into digital animators to make audience can feel their emotions?  Another problem is they can not make the animators too real. :0…

The confusion is another point in this reading their job is not creating the new and real man, is to fool audience. That is enough . haha ..So are we cheated by the creators?  How to explain and understand this point?

When i tool the photo this time, i felt i had more thinking because we have the topic. I just ramdonly took the picture before. And i also found i had some difficulty this time. Because i always not sure if i was right to the topic.

i like the porcess of taking pictures, like thinking how and where to take the pictures. When you figure out how to take one picture, we may be go to different places and obeserve more carefully than before. For example, if i didnt take the photo of the flower in the oval closly this time, i wouldnt find how beautiful they are. I always glance at them when i passes the oval.

My favotie is the stable flower one. Because this picture gives people an feeling of attractive because their wonderful color. This photo makes me happy and feel the spring is coming.

B1-introduction

Hello, this is Bixi. You can call me Joyce:). I am Sophomore in Math major. When I tell people my major, most of them will be surprised and think I am smart. I choose it because I wasn’t good at it in high school and want to learn more about this scary major. - -…I just know I ‘enjoy’ the pain that math gives me. I have been in America nearly two years. Rather than feeling painful in the beginning of my American life, I enjoy the life here right now, meeting diverse people and experience the surprise no matter good or bad in this country. Btw, I still miss the food in china. I love traveling. Miami and Chicago are my favorite cities in America until now. Chicago is a  combination with history and modern. I really like watching people’s performance in the subway. Miami is fresh letting me feel happy. I like watch movie like the girl with dragon tattoo this kind of movie. And I like singing when I have the shower, even I am not a good singer. I usually cook at home, so kind of good at cooking. I practiced Kung Fu in a whole summer before I came to American, in case I can protect myself when I am in dangerous. But it seems like useless right now. I like here. Haha.
